It was one thing to see a grainy shot of Dale in the paper. What would it be like to see him again in blazing living color? In all that shining golden glory that had blinded Lam for the best six years of his life?

“You’ll never know if you don’t move, jackass,” he grumbled to himself. He didn’t want to wait any longer. The only question was, should he head for the shop where lights still burned and bring the scene to Dale, or wait in the bar and make it more casual? Or…at least pretend it was casual. There was no way he was going to be able to pull off a “oh, what a coincidence!” ambush when the place was called Jarvis Waveworks, for chrissake. Lam was going to have to own up, at least to some extent. He’d have to admit he had come here on purpose looking for his old friend. Even if he tried to lie, even if the circumstances didn’t made the idea ridiculous, Dale knew Lam too well for that kind of bullshit.

Lam and Dale grew up together and fell in love on the California shore. Polar opposites, still they made a home together, and planned to spend the rest of their lives doing it. Then adulthood and separate dreams pulled them apart.

20 years later, their paths cross again. Can all the hurt of a lifetime of silence and pain be overcome to find that love again?
